Antique Silver Oval Paste Amethyst Glass Brooch

Exquisite antique Edwardian to Art Deco era silver brooch with an oval amethyst colored glass paste surrounded by a double halo of clear round cut pastes. Though difficult to capture in photographs, the brooch is very sparkly and in many ways could pass as fine jewelry to an untrained eye. There is a hand engraved "146/759" that is some sort of jeweler's marking on the back. The brooch, including the rolling safety catch, appears to have been hand fabricated.

Acid tests as 900 or 925 silver, possibly with a rhodium plate.

Good condition with minor signs of age and wear. One round section of the exterior halo has had some filing on the back. A few negligible abrasions on clear paste tables, but for the most part all are intact.
